Obituary of Lillian Myrtle Coyle
Coyle, Lillian Myrtle (nee Prieur)
July 4, 1920 - September 11, 2023
Slipped into the arms of the Lord at the age of 103 years. Longest surviving daughter of the late Louis (1944) and late Emily (1964) Prieur. Beloved wife of Bernard (1993) and together they celebrated 51 years of marriage. Proud mother of Gary (Ruth), Marlene Brunet (Joseph), Wayne (2005) (Cathy), and Kevin (Carolyn). She was the loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and absolutely adored by 20 great grandchildren. Loving sister to Clarence (1943), Helen Lauzon (1943) and Archie (1998) and Mariette (1989), Raymond (1999) and Antoinette (1999), Kathleen (1917), Nellie (2016) and Romeo Desmarais (1995), John (2005) and Dorothy (2009), Joe (2016) and Lee (2018), Robert (2014) and Betty (2007), Louis (2012) and Virginia (2000), Marguerite (2017) and Joe Marrin (2011), Tom (2005) and Rita, Richard and Pat, and Shirley and Joe Steiner.
Mom glowed with an amazing spirit. She and her husband, Bernard, established the well known and trusted Coyle’s Jewellery in Riverside. She earned the nick name “Diamond Lil” not for the size of her diamond but for the depth of her soul. While being a working wife and mother she not only diligently embraced her customers but provided a warm and loving home for her family. She loved to sing good old fashion songs and she was a whiz playing cards even after she reached 100. She was living proof of how a positive attitude keeps you healthy and loved by all. Her radiant smile and quick wit were appreciated by the staff and residents at Amica and Huron Lodge. We are grateful for the loving care provided for our mother. “She loved everyone a Bushel and a Peck”.
