Obituary of Marcella Therese Proulx

Passed away at the age of 96 on August 30, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Reunited with her parents George and Augustine Proulx, brothers Roland (Dorothy), Robert (Irene) and sister Jeanne. Surviving are Marcella’s cherished and devoted nieces and nephews: Michelle Jones (the late Dale), Anita Proulx, the late Paul Proulx (Kim), Mary Ellen Renaud (Ken), Elise Proulx (Allan), Yvette Henkel (George), and Philippe Proulx (Marie). Survived by cousins in Quebec, and many great, and great-great nieces and nephews. Marcella was a graduate of Sacred Heart Convent in Ottawa. She worked for 35 years in Detroit, Michigan. During her retirement, she volunteered in Pastoral Care at WRH - Met Campus, the St. Vincent de Paul and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. The family would like to thank the staff of the Hospice of Windsor, as well as WRH - Met Campus 6 North for all their dedicated care and compassion. Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL - Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday, September 4, 2023, from 2-4 pm. Parish prayers will be held at 3:30 pm. Family and friends will be received at St. Anne’s Church (12233 Tecumseh Rd. E.) on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Please park at the Legion #261 (across from St. Anne’s Church on Lesperance Rd.). Interment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marcella may be made to The Hospice of Windsor or a Mass Offering.
