Dear John and Pauline and to all in the Chenier family... Please accept the condolences and prayers on the sudden loss of your son Jean. I, as well as several in our Assembly, had occasion to meet him this past year when he brought his BBQ and skillfully volunteered to cook steaks for us at an event of the Assembly. He was a most interesting person and had many interests. I know a few who really enjoyed meeting him. I did not know John but his parents, Pauline and John are special friends of our family. My deepest condolences are extended to you at this horrible time. Losing a child, no matter what age is a loss no parent wishes for. John was a loving son who cared for his family and friends. I still remember in 2013 when we had a large family reunion of all the Chenier’s. Julie was going 4 wheeling with Jean and I asked if I could come with them. He made me feel super comfortable and welcomed. We even got stuck and he was so calm and collected and got us out and back home. Thank you for your kindness and warm smile.

I worked with Jean on a few projects at Windsor Regional. I will never forget when his new staff were hired and being seen by the heath nurse. He would pop his head in and make sure they were doing okay and made them feel very welcomed and comfortable. His sincerity was admirable. Thinking of you and your family at this time. I am very sad to hear of his passing.

I loved working with Jean at Windsor Regional Hospital over the past few years. He would go way out of his way to help those who needed it and he had a wry sense of humour that always got you chuckling. He was a friendly face over the course of the pandemic when we needed one. I just spoke with him two weeks ago by phone and he was telling me how much he was loving his new job. I’m sorry we won’t get out for that lunch now. Will miss you Jean.

I have only worked with Jean a short time at the University in the Faculty of Engineering, but I can tell you he has made a huge impact here. It is a testament to Jean's character how quickly he fit in and became part of the team. when COVID hit I was about to lose 1200.00 in salmon all my accounts were closed.I call Jean and said can you find me some buyers for this salmon, well let me tell you he called all his hunter friends and he got it all sold for me so I did not lose a dime, Jean was always there to help out, may all of his family find peace in that he had a heart of gold.
