Obituary of Robert William Newell

Newell , Robert W. Born September 5, 1927 at Ingersoll, Ontario, passed away in Windsor on September 3, 2008 at the age of 81 years. Survived by his first wife Margaret Newell and daughter Georgina of Windsor. Father of Hazel and husband Terry Moore of Hamilton, ON., Margaret and husband Richard Bennett of Tecumseh, Robert Newell Jr. and wife Denise of Amherstburg. Also survived by sisters Shirley Farner of Toronto, Margaret and husband Brian Jamison of Oakville, Pauline and husband Pete Perkins of Essex, Harold of Windsor and a sister-in-law Ellie Newell of Colchester. Predeceased by his second wife Elizabeth Betty Newell on April 10, 1997, his sister Helen Morrow on Sept. 6, 2001, brother Donald Pete Newell on July 6, 2000. Also predeceased by his father William F. Newell 1902-1953 and his late mother Shirley Mary Newell 1902-1985. Robert is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert worked as a carman for the Canadian Pacific Railroad for 45 years and 10 months retiring March 1, 1991. He was a member of the Canadian Pacific Pensioners Association. Visiting at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East ( 519-253-7234) on Friday September 5, 2008 from 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday September 6, 2008 at 10:00am in the chapel. Interment Victoria Memorial Gardens.
