Obituary of Sophia Klaras

It is with heavy hearts I announce the passing of my dear mother and best friend Sophia Klaras. She passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 10th 2023. Sophia has been finally reunited with her loving husband, Athanasios Klaras, in heaven being married for 47 years. Loving daughter of the late Evangelos Nanos and Magdalene Nanou of Greece. Beloved mother and best friend to Nektarios Klaras. Sophia will be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters Thomas, Panagiotis, Despina, Demetra, and Vasili. Loving sister-in-law to Ilias, Fanio, Athanasia, Argyro, Sofia, Maria, and the late Thomas of Greece. Sophia’s friends and extended relatives will miss her deeply. She was an active member of the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her smile, and her courage. She is now gardening and singing in heaven. A visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7236. On Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Thrice Holy Hymn Service at 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
