Obituary of Allen Brooks
ALLEN BRUCE BROOKS
AUGUST 12, 1934 - JULY 23, 2023
At the completion of a well-lived life, Allen peacefully passed away surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Janet (December 7,2022) with whom they shared over 57 years of marriage. Son of the late Cecil and Lillian Brooks. Reunited in heaven with his son Wallace. His surviving son Andrew (Jennifer) already feels the incredible void of losing his role-model, sounding board, handy-man and fellow Maple Leafs #1 fan. Allen would say his biggest pride and accomplishment in life was being Papa to his cherished grandchildren Laryssa (Eryk Titus), Aidan, and Avery. Brother to Sam, his late wife Barb, and their children Glen, Julie, and Joselyn. Allen graduated from Ford Trade School in 1957 and went on to work for the company until retiring in 1999 after 43.5 years of dedicated service. It is incredibly difficult to summarize the life of someone who meant so much to so many people. A stranger met Allen only once and then was forever his friend. Allen always put everyone’s needs before his own and never wavered from that thinking even at the very end. The family wishes to extend their very deepest gratitude to Drs Koutras, Elsdon, and Jacobs as well as the entire 8th-floor staff at Windsor Regional Hospital Ouellette Campus especially Kathy for their exceptional care. Allen is now solving soduku and crossword puzzles over coffee with Janet and plotting their next adventure now that they are together again. Visitation will be held at Emmanuel United Church (1728 Lincoln Rd, Windsor ON N8W 2P7) on Tuesday August 8th, 2023 from 10 am followed by a memorial service at 11:30 officiated by Rev. George Bozanich. Cremation has taken place. Allen and Janet’s remains will join their son’s for burial in spring of 2024 at Burnbrae Cemetery, Campbellford, Ontario. Memorial donations to Emmanuel United Church or Hospice of Windsor would be appreciated by the family.
