William (Bill) M. Rowe posted a condolence
Sunday, August 6, 2023
To all the Chisholm Family and their many Friends: Please accept our sincere condolences at this sad time.
Linda and I were fortunate to work at Rose City Ford when it was a new company. Linda worked with Amelia at Holiday Rent-A- Car and I worked as Parts Manager.
Bill was an amazing dealership owner and built a successful team quickly and became better than other dealers especially in "customer care". His motto was-" customers come where they are invited and stay where they are well treated."
Bill had a great personality and was a true professional at business and at play. He understood people and could relate to everybody, probably because of all his life's varied history and experiences. He had all the attributes to be successful in whatever he chose to do and he loved the Automotive Industry.
Bill had a store of wisdom and common sense...he could always find a way or invent one. He had unlimited drive to improve the way the dealer system functioned....a true leader in the Auto Industry and was known and liked by thousands of Friends ,Customers and Business Associates.
He was honest and fair and expected the same. He had a strong moral compass and took customer care and satisfaction seriously.
I knew him at work and socially and you got the same person...witty, calm and his mind was multi-tasking to change "for the better". Mr. William F. Chisholm was One-of -a- Kind .
RIP Bill.
Respectfully, Bill and Linda Rowe.

Bill was an excellent leader. I will always appreciate his wisdom and patience mentoring me as a young manager in the 1980’s. Bill’s was a there to coach me through a couple of very challenging situations. He was ahead of his time, his approach was refreshing, No screaming and yelling, always a calm, reasoned delivery. Rest in Peace “Boss”. You have earned my lasting respect.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Chisholm. I/we lived next door to him on Westchester in Windsor…I remember listening to my dad and Mr. Chisholm chatting over the fence….they did that back then….I was mesmerized listening to them. I would have been 10-12 years old. I will add that being such a respected member of the community that he was, he was invited to give a talk in one of our classes in high school…”if you want to remember what you “need” to do….get this…put a potato in your shoe to remind yourself, so you won’t neglect something that might be difficult”. I think that says a lot about Mr Chisholm….anyway I am going to a funeral for an uncle in Windsor soon and ran across Mr. Chisholm’s obituary accidentally.. I felt that I needed to say something….I am sorry for your loss …He truly is a man who gave way more than he took.

To our Canadian cousin, Bill, who always attended the Campbell functions in Michigan, we always looked forward to your visits. The Photo attached, you and Amelia visited our home in East Lansing, Michigan, a home on the ninth hole at Timber Ridge Golf Club. I regretted that you did not get a chance to play the course. I know you would have enjoyed playing it. Loretta and I feel a great loss to our family relations, and send our deepest condolences to Amelia, Margo, Catherine, Martha, John, Mary and Anne, their families, their children and their children. I want to especially thank Martha for giving me the privilege to notify the Campbell clan. May Bill rest in Peace. May God Bless the Chisholm and Deslippe clan.
