It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Rene Trudell on June 14, 2023 at the age of 91 years. Beloved Husband of 64 years to Bernadette (nee Papineau) and devoted Dad to Louis (Carol), Suzanne (Rick) Berthiaume, Denis (Sharla), Joanne (Dino) Ferro, Dianne (Roger) St. John. Cherished Pepe to Brian, Paul, Julie, David, Steven, Sarah, Stephanie, Nicholas, Dana, Adam, Jocelyn, Hanna and 9 great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law to Victor (Juliette) Papineau. Rene retired from Chrysler Canada at the age of 49 with 31 years of service. He was very devoted to his Catholic faith and belonged to the Windsor Knights of Columbus Council 1453, 3rd and 4th Degree as he served as Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He was also a member of the International Order of the Alhambra, serving the physically and mentally challenged. Dad had a talent for making beautiful stained-glass creations and loved to keep busy tinkering with various electronics. Our family wishes to thank the caregivers from Saint Elizabeth and the amazing staff at Hospice for their support. In Rene’s honour, memorial donations would be appreciated by the family to the Hospice of Windsor & Essex County.
