Obituary of Antonio (Tony) Tonus

Passed away after a brief illness on June 10, 2023, at 91 years, with family by his side.  Beloved husband to Dina (nee Pilot) for 63 years.  Loving father to Rudy, Dana Tonus and Dave Dunne. Predeceased by his son Lorenzo.  Cherished Nonno to Mathew and Michael.  Dear brother of the late Maria (Bruno) Fracas and Giuseppe Tonus.  Dear brother-in-law to Suzanna Tonus and Louisa Gardonio.   Cherished Zio to Ivo (Shirley), Lou (Charlene), Madalena (Wayne), Piera, Stella (Dave) and Sandy.  Will be sadly missed by many extended family members in both Italy and Canada. He was a proud active member of the Caboto Club for 60+ years and a member of Carpenters Local #494 for 65 years. Antonio was known for his incredible work ethic, his devoted love for his family and his Italian heritage. He will be remembered for his vineyard/garden and love of birds. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Road East (519-253-7234) on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 10:15 a.m. and then a procession to St. Angela Merici Church, 980 Louis Avenue, Windsor for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.  www.windsorchapel.com
