Obituary of Gino Lo Duca
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 10, 2023. Beloved husband of 26 years to Denise Lo Duca (nee Tessier). Predeceased by his parents Giuseppe and Grace Lo Duca. Loving father of Elisa Filice (Marco), and step father of Tina Hunt (Don), and Erica Rea (Anthony). Adored Nonno of Abby, Ethan, Dante, Gabriella, Roman, Andre and Julian. Dear brother of the late Vito (Joyce), the late Tony (Patty), Rose Vargyas-Tonkin (Wally), Joe (Sue), David (Dorothy), and Sylvia D’Alessandro (Tony). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was a dedicated Carpenter with Hiram Walker and Sons for over 30 years and enjoyed helping others with home projects during his retirement. Gino had a passion for cooking which began while working at his family’s restaurant as a young boy where he learned his trademark pizza-making skills. A room was brought to life when Gino walked in with his warm smile, big personality and infectious laugh. You can be sure to have been the recipient of one of his recipes, a good joke, or a seat at his table to enjoy a delicious meal. His happiest times were spent fishing, cooking, making pizza and tending to his garden. Nothing, however, brought him more joy than spending time with his 7 grandchildren whom he was so proud of.
The family would like to thank Megan C. - palliative nurse at St. Elizabeth for her extraordinary care, the PSWs who assisted with Gino at home, and especially Hospice of Windsor for their dedicated care and compassion in his final days.
