Obituary of David John Garvin

At 59 years of age, David passed away at Journey Home Hospice on May 25, 2023. Known as quite the charmer, he had a sense of humour that was well known amongst his friends and caregivers. David was an old soul who loved angel figurines, cars, and most especially animals, speaking fondly of his late dog, and the horse he bought for $27. He cheekily named his horse, "Cheap Trick". Family Services Windsor Essex and Windsor Family Homes cared for David like family for many years throughout his life, and he was grateful to receive support from Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario and Journey Home Hospice Windsor during his end-of-life journey. David loved to listen to music with Queen and Guns and Roses among his favourites. In the week before his death, he sang “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” with team members, a fitting tribute to his final journey and his hope of things to come.
