Obituary of Charles Melvin Greenwood

GREENWOOD, Charles M. "Mel" Peacefully on March 20 , 2008 at the age of 85 years. Dearly loved husband to Daisy sharing 62 years of love and companionship. Devoted dad to Cheryl & husband Darryl Banfill of Texas, Darlene Trowbridge & husband Ray of Calgary, Ken Greenwood & wife Janet of Windsor and Colleen Tracy & husband Doug of Ottawa. Cherished pa of 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Phyllis Campbell & husband Ken. Dear brother in law of Lola & husband Bert Gaudet, Shirley & husband Bob Richey and Lloyd & wife Peggy MacLeod. Dear uncle to Bob & Lesley Campbell and Maureen & Andy McLeod all of B.C. and survived by many nieces and nephews. Mel retired from Revenue Canada after 33 years of dedicated service and was Commander of R.C.S.C.C. Agamemnon, and a member of Palace Lodge A.F. & A.M., The R.C.N.A. , War Pensioners and the Navy League of Canada. Mel will be forever remembered by his extended family at Church of the Ascension where he served as Treasurer for many years. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd East on Sunday March 23, 2008 from 2 - 5 & 7 - 9 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to share in the celebration of Mel's life at Church of the Ascension ( 1385 University Ave. W ) on Monday March 24, 2008 from 10:30 am until time of funeral service at 11:00am. Officiating Archdeacon Ron Matthewman and Fr. Lance Smith. Cremation to follow . A private interment will take place Church of the Ascension Memorial Gardens.
