Obituary of Vera McNair

McNAIR, Vera "Gamma" 1917-2008 Passed away surrounded by family on April 11, 2008 at Riverside Place, Windsor. Loving wife of the late Richard Douglas McNair. Beloved mother to Yvonne and husband Robert Winand of Gibraltar, Michigan. Dear grandmother to Douglas Winand of Windsor, and Jacquie Winand-Bacon and husband Bob Bacon of Emeryville. Dear great grandmother to Megan, Michelle and Robert. Dear sister to Gerda Matthes of England. Dear aunt of Gerald Matthes of Birmingham, Michigan, and Dianne Matthes of London, England. While living in England, Vera worked for many years as a registered nurse and also with the Red Cross. She and her husband Richard were avid boaters and spent many enjoyable hours power boating on the River Thames in London, England. During her time in Canada she was active with the Alzheimer's Society. Resting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 2-5 and from 7-9 p.m. Family and friends will be received at Holy Name Of Jesus Parish, 146 Talbot St. S., Essex on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 for visitation from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. In accordance with her wishes, her remains will be returned to England for final disposition.
