Obituary of Gail Growe

Growe-Zdyb, Gail Luanne February 28, 1947 – January 30, 2020 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our much loved mother. Cherished companion to Michele Riggi. Beloved mother of Natasha Vettraino (Pat) and Krista Zdyb. Proud Bubba to her angel Joseph. Sister to Judith Romanik (late Robert), late Robert Growe (Margaret Goulet). Survived by her uncle Todge Kuzniar. She will be missed by her nephews Jonathan and Matthew and her step-grandson Michael. Also survived by Michele’s family Gina Amato (Frank), late Pietro Riggi (Oriana) and their children. Predeceased by parents Joseph Growe and Helen Growe. Gail will be remembered by many cousins and extended family and friends. Gail was a force to be reckoned with and passionate about her causes. She was a devoted neighbourhood activist who achieved results in improving her community. She was dedicated to the care of her family and friends. It would not be unusual to find her working in her garden or cooking in her kitchen. Most of all, Gail’s happiest moments were time spent with her family and friends around the dinner table raising a glass of wine. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East, 519-253-7234, on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, February 5, from 9 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, donations may be made to the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
