Obituary of Monica O'Brien

O'Brien, Monica (Nee Hughes) It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of a beloved wife and mother on Wednesday, July 16th, 2008. Born August 30, 1929 in Canton Cardiff, South Wales to John Vincent Hughes and Marcella O'Keefe, beloved sister of Gerry and Mary Kelleher (Cardiff) and David and Dianne Hughes (Caerphilly). Married August 24, 1959 to Michael O'Brien, son of James and Mary O'Brien (nee McCarthy) in Cardiff. Beloved mother of Andrea and Edward Zold (Windsor), Sgt. Martin and Nicola O'Brien (Coleby, Lincoln, England), Mary Jane and Domenic Bianco (Windsor). Cherished Grandmother of Ewan (Coleby, Lincoln, England), Anthony, Matthew, Sam, Vincenza and Barbara (Windsor). Monica retired from the Admitting Department at Metropolitan Hospital in 1994. She leaves behind many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in Cardiff, South Wales as well as nieces and nephews. Monica also leaves behind her very best friend Maureen Hall of Cardiff and many many friends she's had over the years especially Steve and Joanne Zold and Gerry and Margaret Frain. We are all going to miss this absolutely wonderful Lady, for her Kind, Loving and Thoughtful ways. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Saturday, July 19, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends will be received for visitation at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd at Tecumseh Rd. E.) on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
