Obituary of Josip Pecar

PECAR, Josip "Joe"It is with sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of our wonderful Husband, Tata and Didi into the Lord's arms on August 31, 2018. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 86. Beloved Husband and best friend to Marica (nee Brnardic) with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage. Loving and devoted Tata to Mira and husband Michael Pio. Cherished Didi to Louis, Michael Jr. and Noah. Josip was born in Novo Selo, Bosiljevo Croatia to the late Ivan and Franca Pecar. Predeceased by his brother Alojz (Palona) Pecar, sisters Ana, Barbara (Ivan) Spehar, Marica (Edouard) Lorente, and survived by brother Ivan (Marica) Pecar of Australia. Predeceased by sister in-law Anka and Alojz Laslavic, brother in-law Alojz (Jelka) Brnardic, Steve (Barbara) Brnardic, Mate Brnardic and his surviving wife Anka. Also survived by nephews Steve (Katica) Laslavic, Joe (late Katie) Brnardic, the late Steve Brnardic and surviving wife Jayne, and many nieces and nephews in Australia, Croatia and France. Josip was a proud retiree of the Ford Motor Company with over 25 years of service and a member of CAW Local 200. He was a proud member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church and Drustvo Bosiljevo. A devoted family man, Josip cherished his time with his wife, daughter, son in-law and grandsons. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his flowers and special times playing cards with his wife. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cargill, Heather and staff at Hospice of Windsor, Alyssa and staff at the Y. Emara Palliative T2B unit for their care and compassion. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Prayers at 8 pm. Funeral Service on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 9:15 am from the Funeral Home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Josip, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor or St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund.
