Obituary of Simonne Marie Petz

Simonne Marie Petz (nee Charron) went home to be with the love of her life Bill (2008) on July 4th, 2016 at the age of 93. Beloved mother of Donna Hayes and husband Fred. Carol Maitland and husband Rick. Proud Grandma and Meme to Sara (Ryan), Nathalie (Ray), Jonathan (Joanna), Eric, Catherine (Edwin), Emily, Melissa (Jesse) and Tiffany. Wonderful Great Grandma to Braidon, Kailyn, Ava, Juliet, Lucas and baby Madison. She will be greatly missed by siblings, Pauline, Joseph (Helen), Adhemar (Ellen), Jean Paul (Donna) Predeceased by siblings Marguerite, Roger, Gerald, Gabriel, Cecile and Raymond. Dearest sister-in-law to Mollie, Shirley (Nip) and Jeannine and will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Simonne was a proud graduate of the Hotel Dieu RN nursing program in 1944. She devoted a great deal of her time to knitting mittens for the less fortunate and donated them to Street Help, St. Vincent de Paul and Iris House. She led by her extraordinary example of hard work, love and care. Those lessons will not be forgotten. (East Chapel) 253-7234 Monday July 11th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be held on Monday at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass in celebration of Simonne's life will be held Tuesday July 12th at 11am at Good Shepherd Parish (St. Gregory site) Tecumseh.
