Obituary of Steve Fenkanyn

FENKANYN, Steve. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on April 22, 2016 at Huron Lodge Home for Seniors, at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Wasylyshyn), with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage. Loving and devoted father to Stephani Moore, David and Laura Fenkanyn, and dear father in-law to Dave Moore. Cherished Dido to Alexandra, Kaitlyn, Madison, Kevin, and Nicholas. Dear uncle to Wally, Halyna, Steve, late Mary and Stefanko, and their families; along with Jill, Bill, Patti, and Barb, and their families. Steve was a retired high-pressure welder fabricator with Ontario Hydro and Canadian Rock Salt with many years of dedicated service. He was also a long-time member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. Steve was a well respected gentleman, when presented with the opportunity to know you, he instantly became a true friend. He will always be loved and forever remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, hospitality and compassion. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare and Huron Lodge Home for Seniors, for their exceptional care and compassion provided to Steve and his family. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519.253.7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Panakhyda (prayers) Monday at 7:30 pm. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral (2000 Tecumseh Rd. E.) for visitation from 10 am until time of Funeral Service at 10:30 am. Very Rev. Archpriest Roman Kocur officiating. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimers Society of Windsor-Essex County or St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund.
