Obituary of Russell William Cunningham
After a courageous battle with cancer, we announce the peaceful passing of Russell William Cunningham on October 31, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at the young age of 40. Beloved and cherished husband and soulmate to Dayna for 20 years. Devoted father to William and Jack. He will forever be missed by his loyal companion Henry. He is remembered with love by his proud mother Patricia Cunningham (nee. Mailloux), and father Greg (Janine) Cunningham. Dear son-in-law to Lynn Chalut(George Wong), and Hugo (Madonna) Ferrone. Adored brother-in-law to Jordan (Megan), Sarah (Besim), and Payton (Bailey). He will be deeply missed by his, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends in Windsor, Toronto and Vancouver. Russell had a deep love of nature, he especially enjoyed camping, hiking and fishing with his sons. He was a big supporter of the Electronic Music scene in Detroit, Windsor and Vancouver. Russell loved working in the IT Department at St. Clair College in both the Windsor and Chatham Campuses. He loved sports, especially playing golf, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. A special thank you to the Nurses, Volunteers, and staff at the Hospice of Windsor/Essex County. The family extends a deep, heartfelt thank you to his beloved mother-in-law Lynn for her tireless devotion and unwavering support during his illness. Her presence at every appointment and her help with his children was a source of immense strength. A visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. As per Russell’s wishes, cremation will take place at a later date. An interment of his remains will take place with immediate family present. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice of Windsor/Essex County.
