Obituary of Tammy Belanger (nee Semande)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Tammy Belanger (née Semande) on June 5, 2025, at the age of 51, after a courageous battle with cancer - one she faced with unwavering strength, humour, and grace.
Tammy is survived by her soul mate and loving husband of 21 years, Dave, and her cherished children, Braylon and Kiara. She will be forever missed by her devoted parents, Ken and Charlene; her best friend, who was like a sister, Kathy Roberts (Mike Couvion); her sister-in-law, Chantelle Belanger-Rogers (Dustin); and her mother-in-law, Diane Leonard. Tammy’s warmth and kindness touched the lives of her nieces and nephews, Lexi, Liam, Laci, Lochlan, and Madison, who will also deeply feel her absence.
A devoted educator, Tammy spent nearly 30 years as a grade school teacher. Kindergarten-her beloved “littles,” as she called them- held a special place in her heart. She had a passion for animals, musical theatre, and all things Disney, especially Baby Yoda. Tammy was charismatic, compassionate, and endlessly supportive. She had a gift for finding joy in life’s simplest moments, with her family, especially her children, Braylon and Kiara-always at the center of her world.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many PSWs, nurses, and doctors who cared for Tammy during her treatment-both in the hospital and at home. We are also deeply thankful to the compassionate and dedicated staff at Erie Shores Hospice. Special thanks go to the many friends Tammy made through Cervivor, whose unwavering support meant so much throughout her journey. And last, but certainly not least, to our beloved family and friends-Tammy always said, “you were our village.” Thank you for your continued love, kindness, and support over the years.
Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7235) on Tuesday, June 10, from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at St. Mary’s Anglican Church (1983 Mary’s Gate St.) from 9:00 am until Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tammy’s memory to the Erie Shores Hospice, the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation, or Cervivor Inc., or to recognize the many blood donations Tammy received throughout her treatment, consider a blood donation in her memory.
