Obituary of Maria Rosa Costa

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Maria Rosa Costa on June 5, 2025, who passed away in the home she loved, at the age of 96. Born in Italy, Maria lived a life rooted in faith, family, and hard work.

Dear wife of the late Lodovico "Rico" Costa (2002).

Beloved mother of Walter (Sharon) and Sergio (Nancy), and cherished Nona to Nicole (Jordan), Robert (Rebecca), Hannah (Jake), and Great Nona of Shea and Quinn.  

Maria's love knew no bounds. She was a nurturing soul whose warmth was felt in every meal she cooked and every flower and vegetable she tended in her garden. A proud Catholic, her faith guided her life and brought her peace and strength.

Maria worked as a general laborer, never shying away from hard work, and always finding joy in the simple, honest moments of life. She will be remembered for her quiet strength, her generous spirit, and the love she poured into her family and community.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E in Windsor on Tuesday June 10 from 2:00-5:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm with vigil prayers at 7pm.  A mass will be held St. Anne's Parish in Tecumseh on Wednesday June 11 at 11am.  Interment at St. Anne's Cemetery to follow.
