Obituary of Rose Townsend

Rose Townsend (née Devlin), dearly loved and deeply cherished, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, joining her beloved husband, James Townsend, who predeceased her.

Born in Scotland, Rose was the eldest daughter of Archibald and Annie Devlin. She grew up with her sister Anna Convery, who remains in Scotland, and her brother Archie Devlin, who preceded her in death.

In 1977, Rose made the courageous journey to Canada alongside James and their son, Bryan. Together, they built a new life filled with love, resilience, and faith.

Rose was a devoted mother to Bryan Townsend and loving mother-in-law to Brandi. She took immense pride in her grandchildren-Bryanna Tetreault (Kyle) and Liam Townsend-whom she supported endlessly and loved beyond measure. Her gentle strength and unwavering encouragement were a constant presence in their lives.

A woman of strong faith, Rose rarely missed a Sunday mass. Her church community was dear to her heart and remained a cornerstone of her life.

She also found great joy in life’s simple pleasures-especially watching Coronation Street, which brought her a comforting connection to home and many fond moments.

Rose’s warmth, kindness, and fierce devotion to family will be missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and the family will receive guests at Our Lady of Atonement Catholic Church from 10am until 11am on Wednesday April 9 with a mass to follow at 11am.
