Obituary of Dan Alexandru "Andu" Popescu

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved son, brother, and grandson, Dan Alexandru “Andu” Popescu, who passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 36. He was a loving and cherished son to Manuela and Claudiu, Beloved brother, best friend, and mentor to Sebastian; and a caring first grandson to Bunica Tia. He will forever be missed by his Aunts, Uncles, and many friends, who loved him dearly.

Andu was an incredible son. Andu went to Trent University in Peterborough, where he studied Astrophysics and graduated with honours. He was also an Assistant to his Physics Professor. Andu had a brilliant mind; he was a dreamer, and his one true dream was to fly to the stars. We know he is flying amongst the stars, looking over us.

A visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7234) on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Prayers at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at St. Georges Romanian Orthodox Cathedral on Thursday, March 13, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm.
